The Philippine Consulate General in San Francisco launched the 11th Ambassadors’ Tour on Friday, 31 March 2017, at the Kalayaan Hall of the Philippine Center. The event was attended by guests composed of representatives of travel agencies and consolidators, members of the media, and leaders of the Filipino-American Community. Consul General Henry S. Bensurto, Jr. invited guests to promote and join the 11th Ambassadors’ Tour, in support of the Consulate’s thrusts to Spark* Connect* Empower* the Filipino-American Community. Consul General Bensurto emphasized the need to go back to one’s roots and get to know the Philippines’ distinct and varied culture, with Mindanao, specifically Davao City, as the emphasis for this year’s Tour. He encouraged Community leaders to bring the youth to the Philippines, connecting them with their roots and heritage and establishing a kinship to the Homeland. Tourism Director Pura Suanding-Molintas gave an overview of the packages for both the international and land-based arrangements and showed videos of both Manila and Davao City, citing the attractions and the prices of arrangements. Attendees were treated to a cultural presentation by Kariktan Dance Company, and a Filipino merienda. Post gave away packages to travel agents and consolidators to promote the event to their respective clients.
